15-02-2024

Humana got a special invitation as Humana People to People to exhibit our education programmes at the African Union Summit scheduled for 17 – 18 February 2024. Our presentation will be showcased together with other stakeholders actively involved in education sector on the African continent.

Heads of State and high-ranking government officials from the 54 African nations will convene in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union. Transforming Education in Africa is one of the focal issues.

2024 has been defined as the African Union Year of Education and African Union leaders will use this opportunity to unveil their comprehensive strategy for education in Africa for 2024 and to connect with relevant stakeholders to prioritise the development and implementation of effective system-wide transformational strategies for inclusive, quality and equitable education across Africa.

Teacher Training and Vocational Schools

We have this rare opportunity to share our capacity in implementing education programmes in Africa. We suggest that you consider sharing with some of the government officials attending the African Union Summit that we are exhibiting our Teacher Training and Vocational Schools (TVET) activities at the event.

As cooperating partners in running the Teacher Training Colleges we are of the opinion that they are proud of the impact we are making through our education work.

Members of Humana People to People are contributing towards a more inclusive and equitable education access for all in Angola, Mozambique, Malawi, Congo, D.R., Guinea Bissau and Zambia. Collectively all six members have a combined 33 Teacher Training Colleges that have trained over 45 000 primary school teachers since 1993, in close cooperation with the Ministries of Education in the respective countries.

The committed teachers are helping the disadvantaged communities to have a qualified and professional teacher in the classroom, who is ready to embrace each and every child despite conditions they present themselves in the school environment.

Our commitment to investing in education will continue for the long-term and we stand ready as key collaborators and implementing partners in the transformational education journey in Africa.
