Humana files a temporary layoff plan (ERTE) for 85% of the workforce due to the health crisis

26-03-2020

Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo has presented today, Thursday, March 26, a Temporary Employment Regulation File ERTE in which 85% of the 614 people who make up the team are included.

This measure has been taken in order to safeguard the sustainability of the Foundation's activity and its workforce.

The ERTE has arisen due to force majeure, as a large part of the organization's activity has been paralyzed, as a result of the global health crisis that Spanish society is experiencing due to the coronavirus disease pandemic. The organization temporarily closed its sustainable fashion stores on March 14 and its reuse preparation plants on March 19.

The stoppage of the Foundation's activity has responded to two criteria: first, to follow to the letter the measures taken by the health authorities and, second, to take extreme measures of prevention among the team, clients and the rest of the people involved in the daily work of the entity (sortting and selling clothes), in what refers to the network of stores and the preparation for the reuse of the textile.

The ERTE therefore affects the departments of Stores and Preparation for Reuse, as well as the departments of central services such as Administration, Human Resources, Communication, and Cooperation Projects. Also included are staff from the 3C urban and social agriculture and volunteer programs.

The organization hopes and hopes that the health crisis will end as soon as possible in order to resume its activity and that the team will return to their respective jobs.

Humana, at the same time, wants to send a message of encouragement to all citizens and express their condolences to the relatives of the victims of the pandemic.
