Humana collaborates in several sculpture exhibitions by Friends Forever

01-12-2025

During February, March and April, various exhibitions are planned in three municipalities in the province of Barcelona, featuring sculptures in natural stone (mainly serpentine and opaline) by the Friends Forever Artists Association, a group of master sculptors based in Ruwa, Zimbabwe.

The headquarters of the Humana People to People Federation is also in Zimbabwe. Over the last two decades, the various organisations that form part of the Federation have collaborated on hundreds of exhibitions by this association around the world: in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, the United States and Australia.

One of the first exhibitions took place in Begues (Barcelona). After that first event, there were 18 other exhibitions in Spain.

‘Sculptors of Zimbabwe’, the name of the exhibition, is organised by Ateneu Torrellenc, ARTefacte in Torrelles de Llobregat, ‘L'estació és allà... espai per les arts i les lletres’ and Friends Forever itself, with the collaboration of the Maragda Association and the Col·legi Bosch Private Foundation and Humana.

The scheduled dates for the exhibitions are:

  • From 20 February to 11 March at l'ARTefacte in Torrelles de Llobregat.
  • From 12 to 31 March at l'Espai Carles Hac Mor in Cardedeu.
  • From 10 to 26 April at the Church of the Fundació Bosch in Begues.

Apart from the fact that the sculptures are a valuable artistic and cultural exhibit, the funds that Friends Forever obtains from the sale of its sculptures help to improve the living conditions of the artists and their families.

These are works whose natural beauty is enhanced by the magnificent craftsmanship they represent, the richness of detail and the perfection of the polish.

Collaboration with Humana's emergency fund

The profits obtained from the sale of the sculptures during the exhibitions will go to the emergency fund created by Humana People to People to respond to humanitarian crises.

Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo has recently been certified as a ‘Potential Programmatic Partner’ by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (DG ECHO).

The Humanitarian Partnership Certificate is awarded to organisations that, as a result of a positive evaluation of their partnership application, are considered eligible to apply for EU funding for the implementation of humanitarian aid actions.

The resources generated by the Emergency Fund will be used for actions of this type.
