Humana obtains EU ECHO certification in humanitarian aid

16-01-2026

Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo has been certified as a ‘Potential Programmatic Partner’ by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (DG ECHO).

The Humanitarian Partnership Certificate is awarded to organisations that, as a result of a positive assessment of their partnership application, are considered eligible to apply for EU funding for the implementation of humanitarian aid actions.

The Potential Programmatic Partner Certificate is awarded to non-profit non-governmental organisations with which DG ECHO can establish programmatic partnerships (to be designed in support of and for the implementation of innovative ways of working). Certified potential programmatic partners can also apply for funding as standard humanitarian partners.

This certificate identifies the basic principles and obligations to which the certified organisation commits itself and establishes minimum standards for the preparation and implementation of humanitarian actions.

It also defines the duties of the certified organisation to ensure compliance with the conditions of the partnership throughout its duration, in particular with regard to significant changes in the organisation's configuration, full respect for and adequate communication of the principles of the Certificate, information sharing, promotion (through visibility and communication activities) of the partnership and EU humanitarian funding.

This certificate is valid until 31 December 2027.
