30-10-2019

Humana has delivered today 150 packs (consisting of a total of 700 garments) to the Center for Foreigners of Madrid (CIE de Aluche) that, due to the recent arrival of the cold, again requested the Foundation winter clothes for the interns.

"We need winter clothes for the inmates of this Center for Foreigners' Detention in Madrid, since most of them come from tickets by patera and lack resources," they indicate from the center. Humana has responded with a donation of coats, sweatshirts, pants, sweaters, shirts and skirts for men and women. In total there are 14 bags full of garments to alleviate the rigors of the cold; they come from the preparation plant for the reuse of the Foundation in Leganés (Madrid), where the textile used from donations from the central area of Spain is processed. These are clothes in good condition that the citizenship has previously and jointly deposited in the Foundation's containers.

This is the fourth time Humana collaborates with the CIE of Aluche. The first two date back to 2017 and the third occurred earlier this year. "Our vocation is to convert textile waste into a resource to help the most disadvantaged, either through our development cooperation projects or in situations such as those posed by the Center for Foreigners' Detention," says Rafael Mas, Humana Communication and Projets Manager.
