ADPP Mozambique staff continues to work intensively in the Nhamatanda District, preparing and distributing with the assistance of World Jewish Relief (WJR) the emergency assistance that the area has begun to reach.
The emergency kits are composed of blankets, clothing, tents, small tools, kitchen utensils and other essential items, intended for people who have virtually lost everything they had as a result of cyclone Idai. The kits are being distributed in communities such as Lamego or Metushira. At the moment 500 units of these emergency packages have been delivered to the population. During the next few days the ADPP team will continue with the distribution of material.
In the next few days, the ADPP staff, together with the Mozambican Ministry of Health, will begin to train the Famers Club extensionists and volunteers to participate in an information and awareness campaign on hygiene and health.
Pablo Martín, of the Communication Department of the Foundation, is in Nhamatanda, documenting the work that is being carried out within this assistance and emergency campaign.
