New sustainable fashion store in Madrid

05-11-2018

Humana has inaugurated today a new sustainable fashion store in Madrid. It is located on Calle Narvaez, 46, in the Barrio de Retiro. It has 100 square meters of sales area, where it is possible to find clothes, shoes and accessories for men, women and children.

With this opening, the Foundation has 48 points of sale in the Community of Madrid, Catalonia and Andalusia. Through them Humana promotes responsible consumption, sustainable fashion and circular economy, taking into account that the most sustainable garment is the one already manufactured.

Redesign the future of fashion
"Now, and not tomorrow, it is time for clothes to be designed differently, used for longer and recycled as much as possible," say the authors of the report "A new textile economy: redesigning the future of the fashion ", prepared by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. "In a new textile economy, clothes would be designed to last longer, be used more and be easily rented, resold and reused." From this British foundation explain that "in recent years, the fashion industry and its customers have become increasingly aware of the negative environmental and social impacts of the current system. We propose a vision for a new textile economy aligned with the principles of the circular economy ".

From the Foundation we applaud this study of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Our network of points of sale is a direct witness to the growth of the purchase and exchange of secondhand clothes in our country, whether due to affordable prices and appropriate quality, the rise of vintage or the promotion of values ??such as responsible consumption or awareness.
