The community development project in Equateur, Congo, enters its final stretch

Information and training on water, sanitation and hygiene, latrine construction, teacher training, adult literacy, a revolving loan program for livestock and crop improvement are some of the fundamentals of community development project that Humana is taking out of the hands of its local partner, HPP Congo, Equateur Province. This project, co-funded by the European Commission has just entered its final phase.

The 3,000 families participating in the project meet weekly in small groups led by project staff to improve the lives of their families. Working together and using simple technology and low cost has allowed to achieve the objectives of a project to be completed in April 2012.

Note the involvement of all participants and especially young people, as 7 clubs have been established with almost 500 participants. Just have improved 8 primary schools and 800 farmers have improved their crop yields.
