The 3C urban garden in Tordera (Barcelona) begins a new stage

The 3C Tordera urban garden begins a new stage in the Barcelona municipality. After finishing its first run in 2019, it has started up again with new activists and renewed hopes.

Located on a 3,000-square-meter plot of land on the Fogars road, near the Jardines del Alcalde Sagrera, it has 11 activists and their families, a number that Humana expects to increase to 20.

Damiana Code, coordinator of the 3C Cutivating Climate and Community program, explains: “The only condition to participate in this project is that people are registered in Tordera. Anyone interested should contact the City Council and it refers them to us”.

The new stage of the 3C Tordera has begun under the instructions of the agricultural technician Pere Moré, with the activists preparing the land and delimiting the parcels.

The garden was launched for the first time in 2015 and was active for four years, with a community space (to promote and develop relationships between users and also to grow calçots or potatoes that require more space) and individual plots where the activists cultivated tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, lettuce, carrots, chard, beans... The production is organic and self-consumption.
