Catalonia: Humana donates clothes for people with few resources affected by the pandemic

30-09-2020

The Foundation has delivered two donations of coats and garments of various kinds that will go to people with few resources who are being affected by the COVID-19 disease.

First of all, it involves more than 200 kilos of coats for the 'Social emergency device aimed at homeless people to respond to the COVID-19 crisis', promoted by the Barcelona City Council and the Consorci Sanitari de Barcelona, at through the Fundación Salud y Comunidad.

In addition, about 100 kilograms of tracksuits, pajamas and other garments have been donated for the 'Health project for people positive in COVID-19. Health Hotel' of the Consorci Sanitari de Barcelona and the Sistema de Salut de Catalunya.

In both cases, the garments have come from Humana's Preparation for Reuse Plant in l’Ametlla del Vallès (Barcelona), where the used textile is processed mainly from donations from Catalonia. These are clothes in perfect condition that citizens have previously deposited in solidarity in the Foundation's containers.

"Our vocation is to turn used textiles into a resource to help the most disadvantaged, either through our development cooperation projects or in situations such as those posed by the health crisis we are experiencing," says Àgata Soler-Roig, Unit Collection Manager for Humana in Catalonia.
