Clothing Assistance Vouchers for Ukrainian Refugees in Barcelona

29-03-2022

Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo has delivered 200 Aid Vouchers to the Merchants Association of Creu Coberta (Barcelona) so that it can distribute them among Ukrainian refugees who are housed in hotels associated with this commercial hub. The entity is coordinating support for this group and has contacted the Foundation to request clothing and footwear.

The delivery of the Aid Vouchers is included in the Foundation's Local Support Program, which reverts part of the resources obtained by collecting used clothing and footwear from the town hall, companies and other collaborating entities, in order to help to disadvantaged groups. The vouchers are valued at 30 euros each and allow free clothing to be purchased at the Foundation's second-hand fashion stores.

"We have received donations of clothing, but to date they have not corresponded to the real needs of the refugees," they explain from the Creu Coberta Merchants Association, who add: "It is mainly about children and women, they have needs clothes urgent since they left the Ukraine with what they were wearing”. By approaching Humana, the Foundation made itself available to the business hub and decided that the best way to contribute was by donating Bonuses of Help.

These vouchers are already in the hands of the association and will be exchanged for clothing and footwear at the store located at number 110 Creu Coberta street, just 200 meters from the hotels where the Ukrainian families stay, in the Plaza de España. “We will distribute them according to the needs of each family and person, also as refugees arrive and also depending on how long they remain here,” indicate sources from the association.
