Humana is hosting the third general assembly of the European TRUSTex project: Advancing Sustainable Textiles in the Circular Economy through Innovative EPR Schemes. The event will take place over two days at our reuse preparation plant in Leganés and in Madrid.
During this meeting, the 19 project partners will hold technical meetings focused on each work package, with the aim of presenting the results obtained, defining the next steps to be taken and strengthening collaborations between the different agents involved in TRUSTex and external collaborators.
TRUSTex is a European initiative funded by the Horizon Europe programme, bringing together 19 organisations (5 research and technology centres, 2 universities, 3 NGOs, 3 representatives from the textile industry and 6 small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector) from 11 countries to develop innovative solutions for textile waste management and the implementation of effective extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes.
During the three-year duration of the project, TRUSTex is working to generate scientific and technical evidence to support the transition of the textile sector towards a more circular economy, through collaboration between research, industry, NGOs and public administrations, providing the European Union with legislation based on scientific and technical evidence, born out of initiatives such as this one.
