Agricultural and rural development

This rural development project complements the objectives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Guinea-Bissau to increase food production and improve nutrition and economic resources of the rural population. It has 2,000 farmers organized in clubs (75% of beneficiaries are women) who have begun the process of training and agricultural production.

The clubs have professionalized agriculture through training of the population, the introduction of new and better crops and control of animal disease, the increase in production, by improving productivity and extending the growing season, with the addition of irrigation systems and natural fertilizers.

Similarly there has been a notable increase in household income, to achieve better market prices of agricultural surpluses obtained, a reduction of losses caused by poor crop storage, or improving food security and nutrition of the population. In total, we have benefited indirectly 10,000 people.
