Human Day, for food security

Food Security will be the centerpiece of the speech and debate Humana People to People Day 2011, which will be held on September 22. This is an annual international event involving nearly two dozen organizations of the Federation Humana People to People in Europe with the main objective of raising awareness of the work carried out in different countries in which Federation is present through the various cooperative programs.

While Humana is currently working on final details of the program of this event, some of the activities to be carried out will be the Open Day in plants L'Ametlla del Vallès (Barcelona), Valderrubio (Granada) and Leganés (Madrid), which will include a guided tour and ceremony of the II Textile Recycling Awards Humana, with representatives from municipalities and private entities awarded. In addition, on 21 will be organized in Madrid, a round table on food security, with the participation of experts and guests from Mozambique.

Throughout the month of September will be a photographic exhibition, also dedicated to the theme of the Human Day, several municipal employees of the Foundation of Madrid and Barcelona. The exhibition also will be available to those employees who request it once held the Humana Day. Other actions planned are a program of activities in a selection of 20 stores Humana aim is to disseminate the importance of food security to promote the progress of the communities in the South.
